James V. Boland, CPA, CVA

James V. Boland was named managing member of The Mironov Group, LLC, as of January 1, 2010. Jim has 30 years of extensive public accounting experience. He joined the firm in 1987 and has since developed an expertise in the automotive industry.

He has performed individual and corporate financial planning, automotive factory financial statement analysis and departmental internal control analysis, product cost studies and inventory valuations. He also has extensive experience in liquidations and cash flow planning as well as in preparing compilations, reviews and audits of financial statements. Jim is also the partner in charge of Valuation Solutions, LLC, a division of The Mironov Group, and has been a Certified Valuation Analyst since 1996. He has performed numerous valuations of closely held companies for estate and gift tax purposes, valuation of stock options, purchasing and selling businesses and stockholder disputes.

Jim received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a minor in Accounting from the State University of New York at the College of Fredonia in 1979. He has received a Certificate of Educational Achievement for participating in the AICPA Business Valuation, CEA Program. Jim is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Seth D. Sloan, CPA

Seth D. Sloan is a partner with The Mironov Group, LLC. He has been a partner since 1980 and served as managing partner of the firm from 1998 to 2009. His professional experience has been with privately held businesses, focusing on serving numerous automotive dealerships and real estate clients throughout New York and New Jersey.

A graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, Seth worked nine years for the regional firm of J.H. Cohn LLP before coming to Mironov in 1978. A licensed Certified Public Accountant in New Jersey, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Seth is an active member of the Edison Chamber of Commerce and the Building Owners and Managers Association of New Jersey (BOMA NJ). He is currently president of the Professional Exchange Group networking organization, where he has previously served as vice president and treasurer. He was appointed by the mayor of Point Pleasant Beach to serve on the borough’s Revenue Committee, and he has created an advisory committee for tax-paying nonresidents to work with the Point Pleasant Beach mayor and town council. In addition, Seth is an accomplished presenter and an award-winning photographer who has been featured in newspaper articles as well as on cable television.

Robert J. Brown, CPA

Robert J. Brown is a partner with The Mironov Group, LLC. He has been with the firm for 25 years and serves as its marketing partner. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the states of New York, Florida, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. His background has been with privately held businesses in the automotive, real estate and entertainment sectors.

Bob started working for a Manhattan CPA firm while attending St. Francis College, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York, New Jersey and Florida Societies of Certified Public Accountants.

A member of his church’s finance council, Bob also serves as the volunteer accountant for St. Leo the Great School. He is a past treasurer and a former member of the Executive Committee of the Lincroft Little League. In addition, he served as chairman of an annual charity golf outing for 12 years.

Lawrence P. Burns, CPA, CVA

Lawrence P. Burns has been a partner with The Mironov Group, LLC, since 1994. He has been a part of the automotive division for more than 25 years. In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant licensed in New Jersey and New York, he is an accredited Certified Valuation Analyst and a member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.

Larry received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics/Accounting from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. He currently splits his time between the automotive, real estate development and business divisions. Prior to joining Mironov, he was the controller for a large wholesale jewelry company in New York City.

Elliot J. DeSanto, CPA

Elliot DeSanto is a partner with The Mironov Group, LLC. He joined the firm in 1987 and has a varied background of manufacturing, real estate, medical, retail and small business. He has developed extensive retail automotive experience while maintaining vast knowledge in other industry areas.

He has performed general financial statement preparation, forecasts, internal audits, pension/profit sharing/ESOP work and business development. He has also served as an expert witness for automotive financial and compliance issues. In addition, he has spearheaded the firm’s growth of nontraditional services, specifically in automotive consulting. For ten years, Elliot served as a lead partner in Auto Team America, a national group of leading CPA firms serving more than 2,000 dealerships.

Elliot received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with minors in Accounting and Management Science from Kean University in 1976. He has received a Certificate of Educational Achievement for participating in the AICPA Business Valuation, CEA Program. Elliot is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in New Jersey and Florida, and he is a member of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA), the Union County Chapter of NJSCPA and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He also serves as treasurer of the Douglas M. Krueger Foundation and is a director of the St. Mary of the Assumption High School Alumni Association.

Donald A. Hilker, CPA, CVA

Donald Hilker is a partner with The Mironov Group, LLC. He has more than 28 years of professional and business advisory experience with a varied background of healthcare providers, manufacturers, real estate, wholesalers and professional service companies. Don is the partner in charge of the healthcare industry practice of the firm. He has consulted with numerous medical specialties for practices ranging from sole practitioners to large group practices.

Don earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Monmouth University. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in New Jersey and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, Medical Group Management Association, New Jersey Medical Group Management Association, National CPA Health Care Advisors Associations and Physicians Viewpoint Network.

George E. Berry, Jr., CPA

George E. Berry Jr. is a partner with The Mironov Group, LLC. George has over 30 years of experience in public accounting, the last 25 years with Mironov. He specializes in accounting, auditing and taxation of automobile dealerships and other small businesses. He currently heads the firm’s Training and Education Committee and is responsible for keeping the firm’s professional staff current on the latest accounting and auditing pronouncements as well as the changing tax laws.

George is a member of Mironov’s accounting and auditing quality control department and is involved in the firm’s peer reviews. Additionally, he is the firm’s lead partner representing Auto Team America, a group of CPA firms throughout the country with significant retail automotive accounting practices.

A graduate with high honors from Bentley College, Waltham, Massachusetts, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the states of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maine and Florida. George also serves as an elder for the Spotswood Reformed Church, Spotswood, New Jersey, and chairs the church’s Finance Team.

Irving Jankovitz, CPA

Irving Jankovitz is a partner with The Mironov Group, LLC. He joined the firm in 1987 and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in New York and New Jersey specializing in taxation. Prior to joining the firm, Irving had worked at the CPA firm of Siedman & Siedman in New York City and the Internal Revenue Service as a revenue agent conducting audits on large corporations and high net worth individuals also in New York City.

Irving earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Hunter College and completed graduate courses at Baruch College, both of the City University of New York. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a former board member and treasurer of Temple Shalom, Aberdeen.

Marc G. Mauro, CPA

Marc G. Mauro is a partner with The Mironov Group, LLC. For more than 30 years, he has been helping physicians, dentists and medical practice administrators operate more efficient and profitable practices. He advises medical practices on tax and accounting issues, mergers and physician compensation plans. He also provides tax and estate planning guidance to healthcare providers.

In addition to providing traditional accounting services, Marc consults with clients on business operations, retirement plan design and succession planning. From individual practitioners to large physician groups, he has consulted with numerous medical specialties, including anesthesiology, cardiology, multi-specialty, obstetrics/gynecology, podiatry, primary care, radiology and urology, as well as dental practices.

Marc is a graduate of Rutgers University and served as a board member of the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum at the University. He is a member of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Medical Group Management Association, New Jersey Medical Group Management Association and the National CPA Health Care Advisors Association.

Stuart J. Raskin, CPA

Stuart Raskin is a partner with The Mironov Group, LLC. He has over 30 years of experience covering a wide range of closely held businesses with a strong concentration in real estate as well as automotive dealerships. He currently serves as the partner in charge of the firm’s real estate industry practice.

Stu primarily engages in audits, reviews, compilations and tax planning for individual and corporate clients, and is well experienced in forecasting and projections. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. He received his BBA in Accounting from Baruch College in New York.

Albert E. Parziale, CPA, CFE, CFF

Albert E. Parziale is a partner with The Mironov Group, LLC, and is in charge of the firm’s forensic accounting and litigation support services. He has over 35 years of experience in public accounting. Prior to joining the firm in 2006, Al was a partner in a large, regional accounting firm for over 24 years where, in addition to a commercial client base, he specialized in providing litigation support, forensic accounting, damage assessments, expert witness testimony, settlement negotiations and arbitration, mediation and valuation opinions for clients ranging from small, closely held businesses, to professional practices, to government agencies, to Fortune 500 companies.

He has served as a court-appointed master, examiner, fiscal agent and/or receiver in forensic, valuation and/or business matters and has been appointed in numerous circumstances for various federal or state agencies. He has also served as an arbitrator offering judgments in disputed financial matters.

Al is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in New Jersey and New York. He is also a Certified Fraud Examiner and is Certified in Financial Forensics. Al is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

John K. Concannon, CPA, MST

John K. Concannon is a partner with The Mironov Group, LLC, and has extensive experience in public accounting, with an emphasis on taxation of corporations (both “C” & “S”), partnerships/LLCs, individuals, estates and trusts. Prior to his joining the firm, John was as a partner with Lazar Levine & Felix in Morristown and was also senior tax manager at firms that include Arthur Andersen, Rothstein Kass, and Amper, Politziner & Mattia.

John received his Master of Science in Taxation degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in May of 2006 and his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Accounting from New Jersey City University in June of 1982. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in New York and New Jersey and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants.

John W. Noonan, CPA, CVA

John Noonan is a partner with The Mironov Group, LLC. He joined the firm in 1993 and has more than 24 years of experience in public accounting, specializing in the automotive industry and small businesses. He has performed automotive factory financial statement analysis, liquidations and cash flow analysis as well as prepared compilations, reviews and audited financial statements.

John earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Syracuse University. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in New Jersey and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. In addition, he is an accredited Certified Valuation Analyst and a member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. He has performed valuations of closely held companies for estate and gift tax purposes, purchasing and selling businesses.

Andrew W. Appow, CPA, CVA

Andrew Appow is a partner with The Mironov Group, LLC. Before joining the firm in 1999, Andrew was a member of the management team of a mega-automobile dealership group. He has over 20 years of combined experience in business management, management consulting, business valuations and public accounting in the automotive industry. Through his comprehensive analyses of automobile dealership financials and operations, Andrew has developed effective operating strategies, business plans and company policies and procedures that have been implemented by many successful automobile dealerships throughout New Jersey and New York. In addition, he has experience in liquidations, consolidations and cash flow planning as well as in preparing compilations, reviews and audits of financial statements.

Andrew earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Queens College, The City University of New York in 1991. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in New Jersey and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. Andrew is an accredited Certified Valuation Analyst and a member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. He has performed valuations of closely held companies primarily for buy/sell, estate and gift tax purposes. Andrew is also a graduate of the National Automobile Dealership Association Dealer Academy.
